One day I asked him how he deals with negatives about people, in particular his loved ones. Dad said, "I don't look at their faults, I look to their true nature." I said, "But Dad what if you don't agree with them. What do you do?" With the twinkle in his eye my Dad responded, "I don't offer unsolicited advice, I don't tell them they are wrong, because who am I to know what is truly right or wrong. In fact, I don't even tell them if my belief is different. I just continue to love them as they are." I thought that was quite profound and I responded, "But what if they tell you things about yourself that are hurtful, what do you do?" Immediately he answered with,"I just laugh with them... it isn't hard to laugh at yourself." What a guy!
````Who am I? The mother of Todd and the mother of five more loving children. My Dad died in 2002 living a beautiful life for 100 years. I am eternally grateful for my family...and for having learning that our cups are always half full and we are all brothers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6035343770776876402.post-67458032229733660612009-03-03T14:59:00.000-08:002009-03-03T14:59:00.000-08:00Todd,I just read your update and I think that Laur...Todd,
I just read your update and I think that Laura summarized it best.
Amen, Brother!!!
You just keep on making great Tamales...
I'm sure everyone that follows your blog has a similar story from their Grandfather or maybe even Great Grandfather.
You all are doing a great job. It is my dream to someday open up my own restaurant.
I moved from Pennsylvania to Tucson in November to try to make it as a cook, around the time you posted wanted ads on craigslist. Well, turns out I didn't prepare myself well enough because I was staying on the outskirts of Tucson and for some reason didn't think that Tucson was soo big, so I didn't bring a car with me. About a month later I moved back to Pennsylvania but if I would of stayed I would of sent you a resume and if that didn't work out, I would still of been a avid customer.
Someday I will go back to Tucson and become a great cook, but for now I need to be where I know I'll be able to keep a job.
I'm looking forward to getting to eat my first Tucson Tamale someday :D
-MikeMichael Wiedinmyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12593699910599412774noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6035343770776876402.post-27961583669340880562009-02-07T21:41:00.000-08:002009-02-07T21:41:00.000-08:00Great idea Todd! The good thing about internet business is you don't need to invest a lot of money to setup the business. You even don't need to have your own products, there is an internet business called Affiliated Marketing where you can join as affiliate and earn commission through each successful sale made through your affiliate link.
